1. The service
Logthread is a managed observability platform for logs, traces and metrics. You send telemetry to Logthread with standard tools and an ingest key, and you search, tail and set alerts on it from the web app. Logthread is in early access, and features, limits and plans can change.
2. Accounts and workspaces
- You need a verified email address to use a workspace. Keep your password private; accounts are protected by your password and the sessions you can review under Settings.
- A workspace has roles: owner, admin, member and viewer. Owners control retention, team membership and deletion of the workspace.
- You are responsible for what your team members and ingest keys do in your workspace.
3. Your data
- You own the telemetry (logs, traces and metrics) you send. Logthread processes them only to provide the service to you: receiving, storing, searching, alerting and deleting them.
- You decide what to send. Do not send data you have no right to process. See the Privacy Notice and the Data Processing Addendum.
- Telemetry is stored in the Mumbai region, India, with our storage provider listed under Subprocessors.
4. Acceptable use
Do not use the service to break the law, to attack or probe other systems, to bypass quotas or rate limits, to access another workspace, or to send content you are not allowed to store. We may suspend ingest or an account that harms the service or other customers.
5. Plans, limits and early access
Each plan has ingest, retention and team limits. Ingest above a limit may be refused with an error, and data older than your retention are deleted. The current free plan and its limits are described on the landing page and in the app; they may change. Paid plans and pricing will be published before general availability. These terms do not yet describe payment processing because the service does not process payments.
6. Ending the service
- An owner can delete a workspace from Settings. Ingest stops immediately, and the workspace is deleted after a 7-day grace period in which an owner can cancel.
- Any user who is not the only owner of a workspace can delete their own account from Settings.
- We may suspend or end access for a breach of these terms.
What is deleted, and what is kept as a legal and billing record, is set out in the Privacy Notice.
7. Availability and liability
The service is provided as is during early access. There is no uptime commitment or service credit at this time. Delivery of logs is at-least-once: a log can be delivered more than once, and logs wait in a queue if storage is briefly unavailable. Liability terms are to be settled with counsel before this draft is published.
8. Changes and contact
We will update these terms as the service changes and will tell account owners about material changes by email. Governing law, the operating entity and a contact address are to be confirmed before publication.
